Printers printing extra characters like "!R!FONT 34;EXIT" in RHEL

Issue

  • Our printers are printing files with extra characters in them. The extra characters are like the following:

    !R!INTL 2,1;EXIT
!R!FONT 31;EXIT;
!R! UNIT C;EXIT;
!R! MAP 19.3,15.5,DRPA 11.90,0;EXIT;
!R! RES; EXIT

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), all versions
  • Common Unix Printing System (CUPS), all versions
