Why do I get the "ksh: /etc/profile.d/kde.sh[7]: source: not found" error on my Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 system?

Issue

  • When I log in as a user with the shell set to /bin/ksh an error is shown:

ksh: /etc/profile.d/kde.sh[7]: source: not found

  • Why is  the KDE_IS_PRELINKED environment variable  not set?

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5.4
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.5
