APICast logs the private base url, rather than the public endpoint

Issue

  • After the 3scale upgrade we are seeing that logs are capturing private base url information rather than public endpoint information.

  • Before the upgrade, on 3scale version 2.5 APICast logs looks like the following

    [32/Jan/2050:00:00:00 +0000] apicast-production.3scalesubdomain.com:8080 xx.xx.xx.xx:xxxx "POST / HTTP/1.1" 200 xxxx (0.000) 0

  • After the upgrade to version 2.8, APICast logs look like the following.

    [32/Jan/2050:00:00:00 +0000] private.api.backend.com:8080 xx.xx.xx.xx:xxxx "POST / HTTP/1.1" 200 xxxx (0.000) 0

  • How to configure APICast to log the public URL instead of the private API backend?
