How to remove ASM devices created by udev rules ?

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • We have created ASM disk by using the below rule in udev permissions. If we need to delete this disk, what's the recommended way to do that without server reboot:

    ENV{DM_UUID}=="part1-mpath-3600c0ff0001187d84537fe5101000000" SYMLINK+="oracleasm/disks/ASM_DISK1",OWNER:="oracle", GROUP:="dba", MODE:="640"

  • This has created below disk:

    # ls -l /dev/oracleasm/disks/

    brw-r----- 1 oracle dba 253,  88 Nov  8 21:47 ASM_DISK1

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.4
  • Udev
