inhibit_on_failure prevents from balancing to another node if an initial persistent node gets down

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • inhibit_on_failure option in keepalived.conf sets weight to 0 when a node gets down, and then keepalived should balance to another node whose weight is non-zero.
  • But keepalived doesn't balance and keeps a connection with an initial persistent node whose weight is 0.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.6
  • keepalived-1.3.5-6.el7.x86_64
    • having a configuration of inhibit_on_failure and persistence_timeout
  • ipvsadm-1.27-7.el7.x86_64
