Handling very large files when using JAX-WS and MTOM

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • We have a JAX-WS web service that is returning files to its consumers using MTOM. Some of these files are very large, up to 800MB. Is there a way to stream the files to the service consumer without having to load all of the bytes into memory?
  • How can we send very large files over SOAP with JBossWS?
  • We need to send large attachments with CXF but are getting an OutOfMemoryError, how can we solve this?
