Satellite 5.6 - db-control verify returns "ERROR: checksum mismatch" when verifying a backup from Satellite 5.5

Issue

  • When trying to verify a backup generated on Red Hat Satellite 5.5 using Satellite 5.6 db-control, the db-control verify shows the checksum mistmatch error. 
        # rpm -qf /usr/bin/db-control
        spacewalk-dobby-2.0.3-17.el6sat.noarch

        # db-control verify bkp-sat55
        Parsing backup log.
        Verifying backup from Thu Oct 31 15:26:20 2013...
          /nfs/bkp-sat55//lkRHNSAT.gz... done.  (ERROR: checksum mismatch)
          /nfs/bkp-sat55//spfilerhnsat.ora.gz... done.  (ERROR: checksum mismatch)
          /nfs/bkp-sat55//redo_1202.log.gz... done.  (ERROR: checksum mismatch)
