SAP load testing with SGEN only is able to achieve 50% idle CPU metrics
Issue
- We are running SAP applications work load test on Linux VMs within a VMWare virtualization environment. We are not getting cpu usage more than 50 %, even when we doubled the SAP work load with the SGEN simulated load application. We saw the CPU usage going up by only 5 %. because the cpus are not being utilized completely, the jobs are taking longer. The same work load gets 100% cpu utilization on AIX servers. we are in the process of migrating these application servers from AIX to Linux. Is there any tunable or cpu restrictions on Linux that are binding cpu usage? what can we do to get better cpu utilization. Attached is the sos report for one of the servers.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.3
- SAP Application stack
