- In OpenStack, when choosing an image that is larger than the volume defined the error that the user gets is:
"Error: Failed to perform requested operation on instance "rhel-7.7-server-x86_64-released", the instance has an error status: Please try again later [Error: Build of instance fbb3edc2-72c3-47cc-a7da-3d2fb42d6ddb aborted: Volume 252ef1e5-1612-4d2e-bc1a-f763b7ff484e did not finish being created even after we waited 12 seconds or 5 attempts. And its status is error.]. "
- After investigation in the logs the real error is found:
"ERROR cinder.volume.manager ImageUnacceptable: Image ffd295c7-a970-4d56-be73-8c8773230564 is unacceptable: Image virtual size is 10GB and doesn't fit in a volume of size 8GB."
- The error message given to the user is very confusing and gives no direction as to what should be done. While after investigation we find that this is an obvious user error, the message the user gets indicates that it is an infrastructure problem and that they should "Try Again Later"
