Automounted kerberized NFSv4 shares on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.4 fail to mount intermittently

Issue

  • Periodically autofs will fail to mount kerberized NFSv4 shares:
Oct  2 10:10:00 hostname automount[7651]: mount(nfs): nfs: mount failure server.example.com:/nfs/share on /mnt/nfs/example
Oct  2 10:10:00 hostname automount[7651]: dev_ioctl_send_fail: token = 2992
Oct  2 10:10:00 hostname automount[7651]: failed to mount /mnt/nfs/example

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.4
  • kernel 2.6.32-358.el6
  • Kerberized NFS mounts mounted via autofs
  • autofs-5.0.5-75a.el6.x86_64
