The module of `perl-SOAP` has broken serialization

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • perl-SOAP module has a broken serialization.
  • Both Client and Server has Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.4 installed on it and perl-SOAP-Lite-0.710.10-3.el6.noarch.rpm is installed.
  • In general if one pass a special html\xml char to a Soap::Lite server (e.g HTTP::CGI), one wll get the double-encoded value back.
  • It first encodes it (which is normal) but it should return the same value as the original, e.g. & becomes & or sometimes &
  • Check the attached files to reproduce this problem.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.4
  • perl-SOAP-Lite-0.710.10-3.el6.noarch.rpm
