Could not install Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.4 on Cisco UCS-C200M3 Server
Issue
We can not install Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.4 on our Cisco UCS-C220M3 servers.
The Firmware versions reported by UCS Manager are
CIMC: 1.5(1f)
BIOS: C220M3.1.5.1g.0.031520130940
Our servers use the OnBoard RAID-Controller with the SAS-SCU upgrade module.
We are using a kickstart file for Red Hat. I've also downloaded the "ucs-cxxx-drivers-1.5.3.iso" driver disc from cisco.com. From there I took the "/Linux/Storage/Intel/ICH10R/RHEL/RHEL6.5/megasr-15.02.2013.0414-1-rhel6-ga-x86_64.img" driver disk.
I'm using the KVM console and I've attached the kickstart-floppy as floppy, the driver disk as removeable device and the Redhat 6.4 x86_64 DVD image as DVD.
I'm loading the driver disk and the kickstart file, which works well.
However upon partitioning I get an error message and setup aborts:
Could not allocate requested partitions:
unable to allocate alligned partition.
Press 'OK' to exit the insteller.
Environment
