Changes in sysctl parameters have been overwritten for the previous value after server rebooted

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • I've modified the value of a sysctl parameter and the modifications have been overwritten for the previous value after reboot.
  • Altering the value of a sysctl parameter in /etc/sysctl.conf or /etc/sysctl.d/file.conf does not make the new value persistent after the reboot.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
