[RHEV] Is it possible to manually add virtio drivers on a VM imported with virt-v2v?

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • Imported a VM from ESX host to RHEV 2.2 host using virt-v2v tool. The original VM had a wrong /etc/redhat-release file, hence virt-v2v didn't add virtio drivers. Output of virt-v2v is given below.

open /dev/kvm: No such file or directory
Could not initialize KVM, will disable KVM support
    unknown filesystem label SWAP-sda2
    virt-v2v: No capability in config matches os='linux' name='virtio' distro='redhat-based'
virt-v2v: VM_NAME configured without virtio drivers

Is it possible to manually add virtio drivers?

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization v2.2
  • virt-v2v
