In KVM environment under heavy I/O load, data corruption is seen on VxFS file system created on LUNs attached as a Virtio block devices.

Issue

  • Data corruption is seen on VxFS file system created on LUNs attached as a Virtio block devices.

  • Data corruption was seen in a file write operation. The write issued on a file did not make it to the underlying disk device.

  • This issue was observed by VxFS test suite.

  • This issue occurs only under heavy I/O load.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.3
  • KVM
