Unable get login for xdmcp connection from HP thin clients running Linux-based ThinPro embedded OS.

Issue

• Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.4 server is running in a Vmware virtual machine. X Windows Server installed and works fine with console graphical login.

• When attempt to connect XDMCP server from an HP thin client, getting a cursor on blank screen and then kicked back to the main chooser a couple of seconds later.

• Below are the steps being followed to connect:

  • Create a new XDMCP connection for the VM in the ThinPro Control Center. Change it from Broadcast to Query and provide it the IP address for the virtual machine.

  • Choose the XDMCP connection that was created earlier and tell the client to connect. The screen will go blank and gives the X-based cursor a few seconds later, then after a couple of additional seconds it comes back at the ThinPro Connection Center screen.
