How to use jboss_init_redhat.sh script successfully to start JBoss EAP 5.x as a service for Linux environments ?

Issue

  • User obtained jboss_init_redhat.sh file and is being used from location /etc/init.d/ (symbolic link from /etc/rc.d/init.d/ location)
  • JBoss EAP starts after a machine start/restart but cannot connect to port 1099 after the process completes.
  • JBoss EAP 5.1.2 by default do not ship with the file jboss_init_redhat.sh (in $JBOSS_HOME/jboss-as/bin/ location) as per the article
