cupsd process is consuming 100% CPU when cups-browsed is used for printer sharing in RHEL 7.7 and later versions

Issue

  • When using cups-browsed to automatically add shared print queues from a central print server, the CPU usage of cupsd stays near 100%:

    top - 06:18:09 up 22 days,  3:07,  1 user,  load average: 1.52, 1.30, 1.00
