Why Stale TCP connection to rsyslogd using imrelp ?

Issue

rsyslogd did not recognice stale TCP connections if using imrelp and there is no Keepalive option like the one in imtcp.
So we are frequently running into connection problems from the clients to the rsyslog-server. Is it possible to get these options from imtcp ported to imrelp?
