Issue

  • Server went into hung state and no messages were logged in /var/log/messages.

  • Following messages were observed on Integrated Management Module (IMM) log:

Sensor Planar Fault has transitioned to critical from a less severe state 
Sensor CPU2 VRD has transitioned to non-recoverable
Fault in slot No Op ROM Space on system "XXXX"
Fault condition removed on slot "No Op ROM Space" on system "XXXX"

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4,5,6
  • IBM System x3690 X5 -[7148AC1]-
  • Integrated Management Module (IMM)
