Unmanaged application is not finding ResourceBundle via a jar in the classpath in JBoss EAP 7

Issue

  • When deploy our ear application unmanaged in JBoss, it is no longer finding our Resource bundle when we call ResourceBundle.getBundle("MyApp"). We are deploying the application ear as an unmanaged deployment via the management console as /home/jboss/apps/
Caused by: java.util.MissingResourceException: Can't find bundle for base name MyApp, locale en_US
