How to limit fence_virtd to only allow VMs to fence other members of the same cluster in RHEL?

Issue

  • We have multiple VMs running on the same hosts, but are members of different clusters. How can we limit fence_virtd to only allow VMs to fence other members of the same cluster?
  • How could I limit fence_virtd to only allow fencing to cluster members virtual machines,
  • How to deny fence to be issued to non clustered virtual machines ?

Environment

  • Virtualization host:
    • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6
    • libvirt virtualization
    • fence_virtd running
  • Virtual Machines:
    • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5 or 6 with the High Availability Add On
    • Configured to use fence_xvm or fence_virt
