Why entitlement isn't showing in RHN portal of RHEL 6 guest running on RHEL 5 host?

Issue

  • Running an RHEL5 host that runs kvm virtual machines. It has been created a VM for a new production server that is supposed to run on RHEL6,  new standard going forward. The RHEL6 guest does not show up as a guest of the host server on the RHN website, and it is not possible to give the RHEL6 VM an entitlement.

Environment

  • Host : Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5
  • Guest : Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
