sudo not working with sssd in RHEL6 and receiving error "[sssd[sudo]] [sudosrv_cmd_send_reply] (0x0020): Unable to create response: Invalid argument"

Issue

  • In Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.4, large number of sudo rules stops working for some users. The sssd_sudo logs following error:
 [sssd[sudo]] [sudosrv_cmd_send_reply] (0x0020): Unable to create response: Invalid argument
 [sssd[sudo]] [sudosrv_cmd_done] (0x0020): Fatal error, killing connection!

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6.4
  • sssd-1.9.2-82.8.el6_4.1.x86_64
  • sudo-1.8.6p3-7.el6.x86_64
