OpenShift Request Header authentication fails with "http: TLS handshake error [..]: EOF"

Issue

  • After configuring a request header identity provider in OpenShift 4.2, the authentication blocks and the following error message is shown in the log of the OAuth server:

    http: TLS handshake error from 10.20.30.40:42620: EOF

  • Identity provider mod_auth_mellon
