Bonding slaves show link speed as 100Mbps for gigabit slave interfaces in /proc/net/bonding
Issue

The slave interfaces shows the link speed as 100Mbps but running ethtool command on individual interfaces shows it as 1000Mbps.

When bringing up a bonded interface, a message is logged like:
Warning: failed to get speed and duplex from eth*, assumed to be 100Mb/sec and Full.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 Update 6
- Network bonding
- Network interface faster than 100Mbps
