Change Switch MTU to 9000 and now the cluster is not starting

Issue

After the switch was changed to 9000 MTU, I am receiving re-transmit errors and the cluster is not starting.

    /var/log/cluster/corosync.log:Aug 20 03:37:02 corosync [TOTEM ] Retransmit List: 13 

Attempts to restart clvmd on the second node never time out and simply sit there. from there, logical volume shows as NOT ACCESSIBLE.
