Why system throws "/usr/sbin/semanage: Type <<none>> is invalid, must be a file or device type" message ?

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • When run the following command:
#semanage fcontext -a -t "<<none>>" "/var/www/lost\+found/.*"

This returns the following message:

/usr/sbin/semanage: Type <<none>> is invalid, must be a file or device type
  • When donwgrade the packages

policycoreutils-2.0.83-19.30.el6.x86_64
policycoreutils-python-2.0.83-19.30.el6.x86_64

to

policycoreutils-2.0.83-19.24.el6.x86_64
policycoreutils-python-2.0.83-19.24.el6.x86_64

The same command executes without problems.
