HTTPD service is not starting with the error "(98)Address already in use: make_sock: could not bind to address 0.0.0.0:443"
Issue
- HTTPD service is not starting even after reboot.
- HTTPD service was failing at startup with the following message:
[root@webserver ~]# service httpd restart
Stopping httpd: [FAILED]
Starting httpd: [Mon Aug 19 20:51:55 2013] [warn] module ssl_module is already loaded, skipping
[Mon Aug 19 20:51:55 2013] [warn] _default_ VirtualHost overlap on port 443, the first has precedence
(98)Address already in use: make_sock: could not bind to address 0.0.0.0:443
no listening sockets available, shutting down
Unable to open logs
[FAILED]
- There are no other process bound to port 80 or 443.
- We see this start after an httpd update.

- Apache httpd
