How to enable Software Update notifications on desktop on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6?

- How to enable Software Update notifications(gpk-update-icon) on desktop in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6?
- Why does the available updates not notified in top panel?
- Available updates are visible through
yum updatecommand, but there's no icon in desktop panel showing them. gpk-update-iconnot showing in gnome-panel.
