Issue

In the process of exploring this situation I have discovered that a command such as chkconfig --level 2345 $SVC off has become quite slow.
On RHEL-5, it takes .00x to .042 seconds; on RHEL-6 it takes about 1.7 seconds. Please test this with "time chkconfig --level 2345 $SVC off" for some service on your systems, and see if you agree.
