How to disable case sensitivity for user and group names in sssd?

Issue

  • On a system authenticating to Active Directory using sssd, is using sssd for sudoers rules information. Its case sensitive requiring to enter multiple entries for groups. Is it possible to turn this off in some way?

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7, 8 and 9
  • SSSD
  • SSSD 1.9.X in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.4
