System fails to boot with smartd enabled in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5
Issue
- System failed to boot up after smartd installation. It gave the following error while booting up:
Starting smatd: hdc : drive_cmd: status=0x58 {DriveReady SeekComplete DataRequest} ide: failed opcode was : 0xa1 hdc: status error: status =0x58 {DriveReady SeekComplete DataRequest} ide: failed opcode was : unknown hdc: drive not ready for command hdc: status timeout: status=0xd8 {Busy} ide: failed opcode was unknown
