Kickstart Deployed system fails to register to Satellite and does not receive a IP address from DHCP

Issue

  • A system deployed via Satellite (and RHN Proxy), booted through Cobbler PXE boot fails to register to Satellite.
  • The system installs fine, connects to all repositories and completes it's %post scripts. However, the system is not found in Satellite and once rebooted fails to receive a IP address from the DHCP server.

Environment

  • Red Hat Network Satellite or Proxy 5.5
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5/6
