Why hostname -A does not show all FQDNs

When using hostname for querying for all fully qualified domain names (FQDN) associated with IP addresses of the host, using hostname -A or hostname --all-fqdns, some FQDNs are missing, or only newline is diplayed:

[root@rhel7u6-1 ~]# hostname --all-fqdns

[root@rhel7u6-1 ~]#
