"wrong ELF class" error when starting Tomcat on Satellite

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • upgraded satellite server and had no errors during the upgrade
  • cannot connect to the webUI anymore
  • 503 service temporary unavailable
  • errors in /var/log/httpd/error_log:

    [Thu Nov 18 17:07:32 2010] [error] proxy: AJP: failed to make connection to backend: localhost
    [Thu Nov 18 17:07:36 2010] [error] (111)Connection refused: proxy: AJP: attempt to connect to 127.0.0.1:8009 (*)
    
  • errors in /var/log/tomcat5/catalina.out
