RHPAM SpringBoot application performs poorly with MySQL

Solution In Progress - Updated -

Issue

We have created a SpringBoot application using RHPAM libraries. The project includes a simple bpmn process that only contains script tasks and service tasks. The only activity in the tasks is printing out some text to the console.

When running stress tests using jmeter for this application, we are observing a significant performance degradation when using MySQL instead of Postgres. In addition, a much higher db connection pool seems to be needed to handle the same kind of load.

Environment

  • RHPAM 7.x
  • SpringBoot application
  • MySQL
