The Boot Cpuset causes a software performance slowdown on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.
Issue
- We have found that by creating a boot cpuset causes a software performance slowdown.
- The slowdown can very from 2X-300x depending on the application and configuration.
- After removing the boot cpuset, the performance returned to normal state.
- This problems seems to be limited to the boot set that is configured at boot time.

- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
- SGI UV 1000
- Boot Cpuset
- libcpuset
