Issue

  • We have found that by creating a boot cpuset causes a software performance slowdown.
  • The slowdown can very from 2X-300x depending on the application and configuration.
  • After removing the boot cpuset, the performance returned to normal state.
  • This problems seems to be limited to the boot set that is configured at boot time.

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
  • SGI UV 1000

  • libcpuset
