tg3 driver does not function properly on Broadcom bcm5715 Network Adapter in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.3
Issue
- After updating the kernel to the 6.3 kernel (2.6.32-279.el6) the tg3 driver is not loading for the Broadcom bcm5715 Network Adapter.
- The following messages are logged:
Jun 27 14:13:28 hostname tg3 0000:a4:00.2: PCI INT A -> GSI 78 (level, low) -> IRQ 78
Jun 27 14:13:28 hostname tg3 0000:a4:00.2: phy probe failed, err -19
Jun 27 14:13:28 hostname tg3 0000:a4:00.2: Problem fetching invariants of chip, aborting
