Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • The server has 4 on-board nics utilizing the igb drivers, one quad-copper ethernet pci card utilizing the netxen_nic drivers, and 2-dual port solarflare cards utilizing the sfc drivers.

  • After the last reboot, the sfc and netxen hardware went missing from both the hosts. They were not to be found in any of the details on the host like dmesg, lspci ethtool etc. as if they didn't exist. neither the modules are loaded.

  • It all happened after installing cluster packages.

  • Does installing cluster packages creates such issues?
