EAP6 JGroup throws BindException Cannot assign requested address: Datagram send failed

Issue

  • While running a clustered environment the JGroup sybsystem shows the following messages in the server.log:
17:24:16,909 INFO  [org.infinispan.remoting.transport.jgroups.JGroupsTransport] (ServerService Thread Pool -- 64) ISPN000094: Received new cluster view: [master:clusteredServerOne/ejb|0] [master:clusteredServerOne/ejb]

17:24:17,066 ERROR [org.jgroups.protocols.UDP] (OOB-4,shared=udp) failed sending message to slave:server-four/ejb (130 bytes): java.lang.Exception: dest=/0.0.0.0:55200 (133 bytes), cause: java.net.BindException: Cannot assign requested address: Datagram send failed
  • JBoss log shows that other cluster members are not able to join the cluster and the cluster view shows only one member.
