qla2xxx errors on disconnected ports

Issue

  • Constant series of errors from a qlogic controller who's port is not connected to anything:
qla2xxx 0000:15:00.1: LOOP UP detected (8 Gbps).  
qla2xxx 0000:15:00.1: ERROR -- Unable to get host loop ID.  
qla2xxx 0000:15:00.1: Performing ISP error recovery - ha= ffff810800000000.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.5
  • kernel 2.6.18-194.11.1 or newer.
