Kickstart RHEL 5 System Fails at rhnreg_ks

Issue

When kickstarting new RHEL systems using satellite, system fails as soon as the rhnreg_ks portion of the kickstart runs.  Multiple symptoms of failure occur:

  • Many RPM commands fail with PANIC.
  • NTP updates fail.
  • System date jumped to 2038.

rhnreg_ks called from kickstart configuration.
