Symbols within certain application cores (i.e. nscd) generated with gcore cannot be resolved by gdb
Issue
- Uncovered this bug through attempting to open nscd core files generated via 'gcore'.
- gdb may also succeed in resolving symbols of a live process, however fail to resolve symbols when viewing a corefile of the same process.

- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (all versions)
