I'm trying to add a channel to my satellite and I'm receiving a message "This server is not an entitled Satellite".

Issue

  • I'm trying to add a channel to my satellite and I'm receiving a message "This server is not an entitled Satellite", even though my satellite is properly registered to RHN.

  • satellite-sync -l is giving the following message:

# satellite-sync -l
17:45:52 Red Hat Network Satellite - live synchronization
17:45:52    url: https://satellite.rhn.redhat.com
17:45:52    debug/output level: 1
17:45:52    --- This server is not an entitled satellite.
  • Adding a channel with satellite-sync -c fails with the following message:
satellite-sync -c jb-ews-2-x86_64-server-6-rpm
16:33:05 Red Hat Network Satellite - live synchronization
16:33:05    url: https://satellite.rhn.redhat.com
16:33:05    debug/output level: 1
16:33:05    --- This server is not an entitled satellite.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
  • Red Hat Satellite 5.x
