No jars in build path when adding Server 6.1 Runtime in JBDS 6.0.1

Solution Verified - Updated -

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss Developer Studio (JBDS)
    • 6.0.1

Issue

  • After adding JBoss EAP 6.1 runtime to the build path in Eclipse Juno 4.2.2 , no jars are added where Eclipse Juno 4.2.2 is used with JBoss Developer Studio 6.0 . In EAP 6.0.1 the same is working .
  • How to add JBoss EAP 6.1 runtime to the project build path in Eclipse ?

Resolution

When JBDS 6.0.1.GA was released there was no classpath support for EAP 6.1.0, mainly because the server team were still to create an additional API for tools to get the proper classpath, rather than just reaching in and getting it themselves. This has actually been done now as given in the https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-13871 and should be available in a future release.

Jars can be added manually as a work around . Select Window > Preferences > Server > Runtime Environments > Default Classpath Entries, then select the 6.1 Tech Preview from the drop down.

Now select add and set the Root Directory to modules/system/layers/base and include **/*.jar . After adding the server runtime to the projects path, all the jars are added .
