Newly installed JON Server will not start-up

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • I updated JBoss Operations Network 2.2.0 to JBoss Operations Network 2.3.1. When I try to start it up, I get the following error:
        [jboss@lxglbjonbeta01 bin]$ ./rhq-server.sh start
        Trying to start the RHQ Server...
        RHQ Server (pid 6654) is NOT running
        Failed to start - make sure the RHQ Server is fully configured properly
  • When I try to start up jon-server-2.4.1, I get the following error in boot.log:
Could not make local copy for file:/path/to/jon-server-2.4.1.GA/jbossas/server/default/conf/jboss-service.xml
java.io.IOException: Permission denied
