Why am I not able to mount filesystems at boot time after disabling netfs?

Issue

  • After disbling 'netfs' as part of the server hardening, network filesystems are not mounting during at boot.

  • The shares can be mounted manually, after boot.

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3, 4, 5
