Why the system deployed via kickstart does not comes up with network or IP address after installation ?
Issue
- Systems is deployed via kickstart.
- After installation when the system is booted, its network remains down and the interface name in
ifconfigoutput is seen as__tmpXXXX. - Observed this issue when using Intel NIC, where as when using Broadcom NIC there is no issue.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 (Any minor version)
- System deployed via Kickstart.
- Intel NICs on system.
