JBoss ON agent reports a duplicate 'RHQ Agent' resource as down

Issue

  • Agent alive but appearing as down in UI (user interface)
  • Agents appear as unavailable in UI
  • Some RHQ agents appear in red
  • RHQ Agent resource is reported as unavailable

Environment

  • JBoss Operations Network (ON) 3.1.2, 3.2.0
  • JBoss ON agent is started and platform is reported as available or up

  • Platform resource for affected JBoss ON agent contains more then one RHQ Agent server resource in its child inventory

    • One of the RHQ Agent server resources are reported as available or up
    • Remaining RHQ Agent server resources are reported as unavailable or down

    NOTE: If only one RHQ Agent resource can be seen under the platform, be sure to check the discovery queue for a newly discovered RHQ Agent resource or perhaps one that is being ignored.
